Weekly Themes

Each group will be grounded in shared language, consent, and community agreements and focused on reflecting on personal strengths and challenges. We’ll explore advocacy, accommodations, self-compassion, and sustainable ways to care for ourselves moving forward.

Week 1: Neurodivergence as Difference, Not Defect

An opening exploration of neurodivergence as a spectrum of traits shaped by context, culture, and environment. We’ll reflect on how social and cultural narratives, diagnosis, and shame shape self-perception and turn ‘difference’ into “disability,” and what shifts when we reclaim our traits as adaptive and meaningful.

Week 2: Masking, Unmasking, and the Cost of Belonging

A gentle exploration of masking, social anxiety, and the emotional labor of “passing”—why we do it, what it costs, and what unmasking can look like in real life. We’ll discuss safety, choice, and self-trust rather than pressure to be “authentic” at all times.

Week 3: Relationships, Communication, and Regulation

We’ll explore nervous system regulation through stimming, movement, sensory supports, and relational boundaries and interpersonal communication. This session focuses on how neurodivergence shows up in friendships, family, work, and intimacy—and how to advocate for needs with clarity and care while building connection.

Week 4: Living in a World Not Built for Us

Naming the realities of navigating school, work, capitalism, and “defaults” not designed for us; we’ll reflect on how systems, institutions and colonization impact neurodivergent lives and contribute to disability. We’ll focus on sustainable strategies, building community support, and reframing neurodivergence as both a real challenge and a powerful gift.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • That’s fine! This Group is for anyone who feels they are experiencing signs or symptoms of neurodivergence. You don’t need a formal/documented diagnosis, you can be self-identified or exploring the possibility of being on the neurodivergent spectrum.

  • Group will begin with a brief intro on the chosen topic of that week, followed by a 5-10 minute “Container Creation” ritual where we will go over the Community Agreements, as well as share any other Accommodations or Access Needs (like breaks, captioning, energy levels, etc.). We will also hold a discussion around the language or terms that might come up in that Group so that we can express our contextual definitions of them and arrive on the same page.

Then the facilitators will provide prompts and/or otherwise open up the Group for conversation and reflection. Groups will include Somatic, Relational or Art Practices and Exercises, and explore with curiosity the skills, tools, rituals, patterns and practices that support regulation, confidence, self-compassion and awareness.

  • We know times can be tough. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly and we will see what we can do.

  • If you feel well-resourced and can afford to pay a higher exchange than we have listed, please contact us. We highly value accessibility and would love to be able to offer scholarships or even lower exchange options for those more marginalized and your donation would mean a lot in making that possible.

  • We are aware that many of us might struggle with time management and that our ability or capacity to adhere to schedules is not a reflection of our commitment. Given this, we encourage promptness as a skill as it impacts the way we are able to create a safe and respectful container for this work. Please try your best to show up before the scheduled Session time (and no later than 5 minutes after), and notify your facilitator(s) if you will be tardy so that we can adjust as necessary. Those arriving after “Container Creation” has occurred (about 10 minutes in) may not be let into the Group.

  • Accessibility is a high value for us and we do our best to make this Group accessible to anyone, regardless of class, race, gender, abilities, etc. We offer a Sliding Scale to help reflect the variability in economic privilege while holding the realities of how class can greatly impact our access to care.

If you need specific accommodations or care, there is a section on our Registration Form where you can note such, and we will do our best to meet your needs. We try to have captions available on our Zoom calls and videos, but at this time our Groups are only in English, and we do not currently have interpreters or translators. You are welcome to hire/bring along your own if needed and are happy to work with you if interpretation or translation is something you need to access our space; please contact us directly.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you are experiencing barriers that might impact your ability to participate OR if you are well-resourced and want to share your abundance to increase our accessibility in serving this Community.

    It takes a Village!

  • Distress can happen. If it is at a level that is not impacting the Group, we encourage you to use what skills you might have or are learning to help regulate yourself. If you are in need of assistance, you can notify one of the facilitators (by speaking up, raising hand or sending a private chat message) and we will do our best to offer our presence and suggestions. If your activation elevates, we may need to ask you to take a break and leave the Zoom call and we will follow up with you after the Session has ended.

  • Of course! We trust that you will be responsible for calculating and managing the time difference and would love to have participants from all over the world.

  • Yes. We hope to have several Series and/or repeat Series depending on the interest and needs of the Community.
